About The Events

A free all-ages concert.

Creative SEA presents an afternoon concert of interactive song and music from the Americas. A wonderful ensemble, led by saxophonist Paul Klemperer, will explore songs we have in common, familiar to all ages, drawing from Pop, Latin, Jazz and American Songbook.

Creative SEA’s mission is Creative Social Engagement Through the Arts. Hosted by St. John-San Juan Lutheran Church, the event seeks to deepen our connections with each other through the music by sharing stories and memories, or just singing along.

Shawn Ellison on piano, Phil Spencer on bass and Joe McCreary on drums provide a powerhouse rhythm section for vocalist Julie Slim and Latin percussionist Rey Arteaga, with Paul Klemperer’s saxophone adding some spice.  Julie is well-known to Austinites as an international artist building cultural bridges through her music.  In her words: “Music is a universal connector that opens the heart and enlightens.”
